Homeschooling in Iowa
Iowa Code Chapter 299A gives you two paths. Independent private instruction needs no notice, no assessment, and no minimum days: teach four subjects and report only if the state requests it. Competent private instruction requires Form A, 148 days, and an annual assessment, but opens dual enrollment and public school services. Compulsory age 6 through 16.
